UCHealth Navigation & Homepage Redesign

Project Overview: UC Health’s appointment scheduling process was hindered by a cluttered navigation bar with 15 options, causing users to abandon the process. The website was responsible for 87% of total appointments, making this an urgent issue.

Process:

  • Conducted live and optimal workshop user interviews to identify pain points.

  • Created a new prototype based on user feedback and tested it in subsequent interviews.

  • Improved the task completion rate for booking appointments from 67% to 81%.

  • Presented findings to stakeholders, leading to the implementation of changes with minimal development effort.

Issues:

  • UC Health’s hero image of rare disease stories isolated them negatively. Users perceived UC Health as only for rare diseases, not primary care.

  • Redesigned the homepage to highlight primary care services while retaining the hero stories, clarifying UC Health’s broader service offerings.

My Role:

  • Developed the research discussion guide and conducted live sessions.

  • Created and iterated the homepage prototype based on user feedback.

  • Presented findings to stakeholders, leading to a 14% increase in appointments in Q1.
